Main History
-154ae—World War III ends after a third world country threatened the first world powers with nuclear warfare. The UN launched a joint assault after intelligence confirmed the acquisition of nuclear warheads. The operation, however, was a failure. The warheads were launched. Simultaneously China’s own warheads were launched. America launched their warheads and in turn Russia theirs. All the pent up force of the world’s military might was released in a single event ravaging the world killing billions and sending the world back into an age of darkness.
-145ae—The Beginning of the End. Nearly a decade passed and humanity had reestablished a majority of its communications. Relations between continents hadn’t been established since, however people could communicate within their countries. Smaller wars broke out in the meantime, chaos engulfing humanity.
0ae— After Earth. Humanity’s environment had evolved right under their noses. So many had been so focused on themselves that they had failed to recognize what was happening around them. Animals overran them, destroying what semblance of community they had, driven mad by the genetic alterations they had undergone in such a short amount of time. They had become stronger, smarter, and more aggressive. They were the first of the ‘monsters’, still bearing a resemblance of the animals they once were, but having changed into something predatory, made to kill humans.
2500ae—The first year Half-bloods were discovered
2666ae—The first year Humans with powers were discovered.
2671ae—The world had changed so much over the next millennia it was nearly unrecognizable. Cities that had once been proud testaments to man’s power was now overrun with monsters. Outside of the colonies that had been formed, no one was safe. This year, however, marks the first year Humanity came out of hiding and the first year their eyes were cast to the sky in disbelief as they marveled at a tree as large city’s width in diameter growing as high as a mile into the air whose leaves cast a light in the night to rival the very stars in the sky. There was something special about this tree, and it was dubbed Yggdrasil.
3235ae—Humanity had established itself well enough in its new world, having formed walls around cities to keep what few they still had alive. Communication between the cities was almost non-existent, however each knew of the other’s existence. These colonies are the now named ‘Sanctus Lux’ and ‘Requiscat’.
3446ae—The Colleges were created. One in Mind, the other in Body. Both used to train the ‘gifted’ in the use of their powers to protect the colonies from the monsters outside. This is also the present time, when the first students would be accepted into the schools.
History of the Colleges
The Colleges of Sanctus Lux and Requiscat were formed with a singular goal in mind. The survival of Humanity. Normally, Humans do not have the means with which to fight against the monsters that have evolved with the influence of Yggdrasil. However, Humans, too, have evolved. The College of the Body founded in Requiscat is a technological hub that focuses on the genetically enhanced humans that have been affected by Yggdrasil. The College of the Mind founded in Sanctus Lux was created with the intent of training the magically gifted in their art. Both, however, train their gifted for a single purpose, to create Terraformers, those with the power to fight against their environment and thus reshape it into a world inhabitable by Humans once more. This, however, marks the first generation to walk into the halls of their respective colleges, some traversing the wilds to move away from their families and friends to be part of the College that accepted them so that one day, they might join the glorified ranks of the Terraformers, bringing glory and honor to their families.
